Medical Insurance – Is provided to help pay for hospital, surgical, and other medical expenses. Elected dependents will be charged a premium that will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck. Employees are eligible as of the first day of the month following employment.

Dental Insurance – The dental plan helps pay for Basic, Periodontal, and Prosthetic dental care. Elected dependents will be charged a premium that will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck. Employees are eligible as of the first day of the month following employment.

Vision Insurance – The Vision plan helps pay for exams, lenses, frames and contacts.  Elected dependents will be charged a premium that will be deducted from the employee’s paycheck. Employees are eligible as of the first day of the month following employment.

Group Benefits – Offered by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama includes the following benefits:
*Short Term Disability Insurance – If an employee is disabled due to or sickness, the plan pays 60 percent of the employee’s current weekly salary to a maximum of $1000 per week for 13 weeks.
*Long Term Disability Insurance – If an employee is disabled for longer than 90 days as a result of sickness or injury, the plan pays 60 percent of the employee’s monthly income to a maximum of $5000 a month.
*Life Insurance – The Company provides a company-paid life insurance benefit of $50,000. The life insurance is paid to the beneficiary the employee designates. There is no contribution to the employee.
*AD&D – In the event of accidental death, the Company provides an accidental death benefit of $50,000. Accidental dismemberment benefits are paid to an employee if he or she loses eyes, hands, or feet or the irrecoverable loss of hearing or speech.

Paid Time Off – provided annually on an earned basis; a maximum of 80 hours may be carried over from year to year. First Year: 15 Days; Third Year: 17 Days; Fifth Year: 22 Days; Eleventh Year: 25 Days; Fifteenth Year: 27 Days

Holidays – NWS recognizes 10 Federal Holidays per year. Seven are fixed; three are considered floating holidays.

401K Plan – All full-time employees are eligible to participate after 90 days of employment. NWS also provides a matching contribution of 3 percent of the first 10 percent.

Tuition Reimbursement – NWS provides Tuition Reimbursement to employees for coursework which supports NWS’s corporate goals, up to the maximum allowed by IRS rules (currently $5,250.00 per year). All coursework that exceeds the IRS maximum allowable will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Flexible Spending Accounts
*Health Care Flexible Spending Account – Employees use pre-tax dollars to be reimbursed for insurance deductibles, co-payments, glasses and contact lenses, orthodontia and hundreds of other health care related expenses not covered by their insurance plans. Maximum deferral is $5000 per year.

*Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account – Employees use pre-tax dollars to be reimbursed for day care expenses of their children or dependent adults. Maximum deferral is $5000 per year.

Credit Union Membership – NWS offers employee membership to Redstone Federal Credit Union.
